Pathologies, diseases, & art. Oh, my!

July 26, 2017

If you were able to catch the Tracing the Remains show, you too saw how beauty can be created in even the most unlikely of places.  Located just after the ticketing booth, Thomson Hall is light filled and quiet - a perfect backdrop for the intricate works of Sabrina Small and Caitlin McCormack.

“...I aim to generate emblems of my diminishing bloodline, embodied by each organism's skeletal remains.” Caitlin McCormack.

Awe, excitement, and happiness were feelings I was ready for and anticipating from the introspective collection.  Empathy, sadness, and contentment were conjured emotions that I was not expecting.  The  intricacy of the minute knots, stitches, and lines brought art and medicine together in a perfect marriage.

I highly suggest seizing any opportunity to see either Sabrina or Caitlin’s work with both hands.
