Tuesday, November 21

Opera Downtown

AVA opens its opera season with its first production of Verdi's immortal classic Il trovatore in 20 years. The famed "Anvil chorus" is but one of many treasured musical settings in the opera. Count di Luna is infatuated with the beautiful Leonora, who does not return his affections. Instead, she falls in love with the Count's rival, a troubadour who serenades Leonora and keeps his identity a secret. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
