Tuesday, January 23 through Tuesday, January 30

Opera Downtown

A cautionary tale about the price of too much power, when a dwarf named Alberich manages to come into possession of the Rhine gold, a ring that enables it's bearer to rule the world, but at a terrible cost.

Wagner’s Ring Cycle is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest operatic works ever composed. AVA’s 2005-2006 production featured Nicole Piccolomini as Flosshilde and Erda. Ms. Piccolomini sang Erda with Opera national de Paris in 2010 and made her professional role debut as Erda with Oper Leipzig in 2013. Also featured in the production were Metropolitan Opera stars Michael Fabiano as Froh and Keith Miller as Fafner. Sung in German with English subtitles

Music Director and piano: Luke Housner
