End the month with a bang! Experience live performances, hands-on art-making, and in-gallery activities on Final Fridays. Each month join us for a unique theme and Detours, unconventional gallery tours for the adventurous.

DIY Art: Assembly Lines & Skylines

Splash Studio (Great Stair Hall Balcony), 2nd floor
Dust off your construction-paper and glue-stick skills and add a building to our cityscape.


Screening: New Sounds for Old Films

See Charlie Chaplin’s classic 1936 silent film Modern Times with an original score by avant-garde composer Hprizm.


Detour with Fareed Simpson-Hankins
5:45 & 6:30 p.m.
Meet outside Modern Times, Dorrance Galleries, 1st floor.
Experience the jazz age with trumpeter Fareed Simpson-Hankins and the artworks that inspire him.


Dance Workshops with Ragtag Empire
6:00 & 6:45 p.m.
Gallery 277, 2nd floor
Heather Houde and Lily Kind of Ragtag Empire share dance instruction on the Lindy Hop (6:00 p.m.) and the Charleston (6:45 p.m.). Space is limited.


In-Gallery Performance: Envoûté Burlesque
6:15 p.m.
Gallery 111, 1st floor
This eclectic troupe combines magic, burlesque, theater, and comedy to transport you to another time.


Performance: Chelsea Reed & the Fair Weather Nine featuring Najwa Parkins
7:15 p.m.
Great Stair Hall, 1st floor
This local little big band reimagines the sound and spirit of the Swing Era.
