Film Suburbs & Beyond

Screened from one of two 35mm prints in existence, this ultra-rare concert film captures gravel-voiced troubadour Tom Waits at the height of his powers. Shifting guises from fire-and-brimstone preacher to cabaret comedian to melancholy poet, Waits performs songs including "Rain Dogs," "Way Down in the Hole," "Innocent When You Dream," and many more. "Oh how we danced and we swallowed the night/for it was all ripe for dreaming..."
