Walnut Street Theatre
The Walnut Street Theatre, founded in 1809, is America's Oldest Theatre. It
is also the Official State Theatre of Pennsylvania, and a National Historic
Landmark. With more than 55,000 season ticket holders, the Walnut is also the
most subscribed theatre company in the world!
The season's offerings include performances from the Main Stage, Independence Studio, and Kids Theatre. Classes and Workshops are offered year-round, as are apprenticeships in a variety of theatre professions.

Please note: the box office staff cannot sell tickets to future performances or exchange tickets during the 30 minutes prior to a performance. Exchanges may also be handled via mail or phone.
The Walnut Street Theatre offers subscriptions, single tickets, group sales, and day-of-show and other discounts. Subscribers receive discounts at participating restaurants.
The Walnut offers devices to assist the hearing impaired. Infrared hearing enhancers are available in the lobby on a first-come, first-served basis; quantities are limited. ADA compliant water fountains and handicapped accessible restrooms are available on the orchestra level. ASL-interpreted performances are available for most titles.
