Antony and Cleopatra

Broadcast from the National Theatre, Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo play Shakespeare’s famous fated couple in his great tragedy of politics, passion and power. With Caesar and his assassins dead, General Mark Antony (Fiennes) rules Rome while carrying on an intense romance with the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra (Okonedo). Intoxicated by obsession and delusion, their affair will draw the Roman state into a new, destructive war.
